Early detection is the best tool for treating bone cancer, as it gives us greater ability to act and increases life expectancy. It is important to know the symptoms that could indicate a potential or imminent bone cancer.

OSTEOSARCOMA

The most common type of bone cancer in children and adolescents that begins in the cells that form bones.

It usually occurs in the long bones that form the arms and legs, although it can occur in any bone. It usually affects children and young adults. Symptoms include inflammation and pain in the bones, as well as limited movement.

EWING´S SARCOMA

It is a type of primary bone cancer that mainly affects children and young adults. Ewing sarcoma originates in the bones, but it can also affect soft tissues. It is often found in long bones, such as the femur, tibia or pelvic bone, but it can occur anywhere in the body.

This type of cancer develops from primitive cells in bone tissue, which makes it aggressive.

CHONDROSARCOMA

It is a rare malignant tumor that forms in the bones and can sometimes also start in the soft tissue near the bones, that is, the tissue that covers the bones and joints.

It most frequently appears in the area of the pelvis, hips, femur, shoulders or ribs. It is rare for it to occur in the spine.

LIPOSARCOMA

It is a type of cancer that originates from fatty tissue in the body. It is a subtype of sarcoma that develops in soft tissues, commonly within muscles, between muscles, in the subcutaneous cellular tissue and in the retroperitoneum.

It occurs when cells in fatty tissue undergo abnormal changes and begin to grow in an uncontrolled manner.

MULTIPLE MYELOMA

It is a type of blood cancer characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of plasma cells in the bone marrow. Under normal conditions, plasma cells produce antibodies or immunoglobulins that help protect against diseases and infections.

Symptoms: May include bone pain, fatigue, anemia, bone fractures, and recurrent infections.
